Living Water

John 4:14"... whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life." ~NASB~

Jesus was not speaking of water that we drink here on earth to sustain life. He was speaking of spiritual water that he gives to also sustain life, eternal life.

When you accept Christ as Savior and Lord over your life, He fills you with his Spirit.  You will know an unspeakable joy even through adversity.  Jesus meant by never thirsting again, that you would no longer seek for things to fill your life for he will fill you.  You will no longer "thirst" for evil things if you give it all to him.  He will fill that void on loneliness and depression.  Trust in Him always.

God's Simple Plan of Salvation

Becoming a Christian is the most important decision you can ever make in your life. Your decision today will not only determine where you will spend eternity, but it will also determine the rest of your life on earth.

ALL HAVE SINNED AGAINST GOD

The Bible says, " All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans3:23)  The word sin means to miss the boat by jumping off into the lake.  Sin is the failure of a person to live the life which God has planned for him to live.  EVERYONE has sinned!

THE PRICE OF SIN IS VERY HIGH

The Bible says, "the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)  The person who lives without God in this life will pay the awful price of an eternity separated from God.  This place of separation is called Hell.  Hell was never intended for the final destination of mankind, but God cannot allow rebellious people to enter heaven.  Heaven is the final destination for God's people, and it is a place where God lives in perfect harmony with His people.

GOD LOVES US IN SPITE OF OUR REBELLION

The Bible says, " But God commendeth his love toward us. In that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)  This verse gives us the assurance that believing that Christ died for our sins, and that he rose again on the third day, we know have a choice between eternal life or death.  The death of Jesus is the most incredible demonstration of the Love that God has for us.  It is the greatest love for someone to give his life for another. Jesus gave his life for everyone, even the greatest sinners, because he loves us all.

John 14:13  "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends."

REPENT AND TURN TO GOD

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." (Acts 3:19)   The word repent means to turn around and go in a different direction.  It means a change of mind and life toward God.  If you are willing to turn you will be restored pure.  Jesus describes this as the "new birth" (born again)  "For if anyone be in Christ he is a new creation, old things are past away and behold all things become new"    (II Corinthians 5:17)

BY GRACE YOU ARE SAVED

The Bible says, " For by grace are you saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8)  The word grace refers to the kindness and love of God in his willingness to forgive and save.  Faith means to trust to a point of commitment.  You cannot just believe in God.  You must be willing to give your life to him.  Salvation is God's gift to you if you will turn and follow Him.

CONFESS JESUS AND BELIEVE

"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."  ( Romans 10:9)   If you confess your sins to God and believe with all your heart that Jesus died on the cross for you and arose from the dead, you will spend eternity with Him in all his glory!

       PRAY TO THE LORD

" For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be save."  ( Romans 10:13)  Anyone, no matter what you've done, can ask God for forgiveness of their sins and turn and follow Jesus.

If you feel led to ask Jesus in your heart here is a sample prayer you may use.  There is no set prayer as long as you repent, acknowledge Christ's death for you, believe and follow him.  You will be saved.

" Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I know You died on the cross for me. I know You arose to life again.  I accept you as Savior and will follow You in my life.  Amen"
