Here at Sherlock Farms we are serious about providing each child with an experience filled with fun, friends and wonderful horses and ponies!

We offer a day camp designed to give children ages 8-17 the chance to experience the magic of horses in an atmosphere that promotes safety, education, responsibility and horsemanship. 

All day camps include a daily riding lesson.  Please register early. Fees may be paid with check, cash, or pay pal

 

What will we do?


 

 NO prior riding experience is required!  Camp is an ideal place to start your child riding.
 
Campers are taught a riding lesson every day.   Campers also participate in non-riding activities geared toward the age, experience and skill of each camper.  These activities are designed to teach horsemanship skills in a hands-on format providing fun and education!  These activities include (but are certainly not limited to):
 
  • Horse Behavior
     
  • Horse Handling
     
  • Stable Management
     
  • Grooming
     
  • Horse First Aid
     
  • Horse Shoeing
     
  • Parts of the Saddle
     
  • Parts of the Bridle
     
  • Parts of the Horse
     
  • Horse Colors and Markings
     
  • Just to name a few...

 

What should I bring?

 

 

sunscreen

sunglasses

hat (baseball, cowboy or scarf)

long pants for riding, shorts are fine for non-riding activities

closed toed shoes with a heel for riding

tennis shoes are fine for non horse handling activities

bring a helmet if you have one, if not we have several to choose from

sack lunch and a snack (water will be provided) (bring other drinks desired in a cooler)

swimsuit and towel (for water games)
