TRAINING

There are several training packages to choose from. Each one designed to fit you and your horses needs.

  • Trailer Training: When trailer training horses the only method used is the Endo-stick(for relaxation) and a simple progression of steps. The horses are never shoved or pulled into the trailer. The finished horse will load up when asked to with no hassle or fuss.
  • Round Pen: Horses are taught respect and obedience through the round pen. The horse learns to come when called and follow when asked. This method is used for all horses that come to Sherlock Farms.
  • Foal and Yearling Training: Young horses are trained to lead, tie, bathe, lunge (if old enough), and trailer. This is all done with safe and humane methods using the Endo-stick.
  • Starting Under Saddle: Horses first go in the round pen. They will learn walk and trot under saddle. Horses will stop and back softly and quietly. If the horse is kept longer in training they will learn to (canter)lope quietly.
  • Working Specific Areas: A specific training area can be addressed i.e.., working on head carriage, forwardness, pivoting, lead changes, developing a quieter mount, etc.
